Uroteuthis edulis is one of the important catch species in Taiwan torch light fishery. Because cephalopod resources are mainly affected by the environment and show annual fluctuations, they are susceptible to overfishing, leading to the collapse of resources and highlighting the importance of resource assessment. In this study, three types of researches including the forecasting model of resource fluctuation trend, environmental DNA monitoring, and the forecasting model of resource spatiotemporal distribution were carried out for the sword tip squid. The results can be used as a reference for resource management. The results show that: (1) Using 2 models to predict the trend of sword tip squid resources in 2021 will be all decline. (2) The interpretation degree of the monthly resource distribution prediction results obtained by the temporal and spatial distribution model was between 20-40%. (3) Compared with 2018, the environmental DNA indicators of the northern coastal measured more environmental DNA of U. chinensis, showing that the ratio of squid resources may vary in different years.
