This study tried to find out commercial crab resources management measures in the northern waters off Taiwan, in addition, to find a balance between resource conservation and fishermen’s revenues. In recent years, the Taiwan government agencies have taken several crab resource management measures, such as body size limitation and seasonal controls, but adoptive management should be taken for modifying the current management based on scientific evidence. To meet the research objectives, sample vessel data and crab biological samples were collected to be analyzed, and we conducted scenarios simulation to estimate the impacts of resources management scenarios on fishermen’s economic performances. Based on our findings, several crab resources management measure might be feasible, including body size control adaptation, input (fishing effort) control in the spawning season, and forbidden to catch obvious female crab n the spawning season. Eventually, the findings of this study could provide beneficial information and foundation for decision-makers and resource managers.
