The study analyzed the catch composition of setnets at Hsinchu and Miaoli in 2015-2020 and attempted to tag the fish using acoustic telemetry to investigate the movement pattern of the fish around the set nets near offshore wind turbines. The results showed Hairtail, Round scad, Jack mackerel were the main catch species in autumn and winter, and Sea catfish was caught in summer. In addition, three acoustic receivers were set up around the setnet and six fish were tagged and 27,772 signs (water temperature and depth) were received from four (three species) sample fish. It was detected up to 28 days of data, and sample fish were most active in the vicinity of the stations. It was observed the stay duration in the nets varied among different species of fish and the diurnal migration. As the setnets at Hsinchu and Miaoli were located closer to the wind turbines, it is suggested that we need to continuously collect the data of the species composition, and increase the numbers of the receivers and then adjust the distance among the receivers to enhance the investigating effectiveness of the migratory behaviour of fish near the wind farm by acoustic telemetry array.
