五倍子富含沒食子酸等多酚化合物,具強抗菌力,唯五倍子嗜口性差,魚不喜食,因此,本計畫擬將五倍子精萃,提高其嗜口性,並評估其對魚體成長及抗病力之影響。鏈球菌是金目鱸的主要細菌性疾病病原,本研究擬探討五倍子在生體外之抗
菌效力、對金目鱸成長之影響及對鏈球菌感染症之抗病力和有效的防治應用方法;結果發現,五倍子生藥、科學中藥、生藥精萃粉及科學中藥精萃粉在生體外對鏈球菌具強抗菌力,且四種製劑間之抗菌力無顯著差異。若以精萃粉1%投餵鱸魚14天,除可提高魚體對鏈球菌感染症之抗病力外,對魚之增重也有促進效果,抗病力可提高50%以上。

Galla chinensis is rich in polyphenolic compounds such as gallic acid and has strong antibacterial power. But G. chinensis has poor palatability and results in fish refusing to eat, therefore, this project intends to
prepare extracts from crude drug and modern herbal medicine of G. chinensis to improve its palatability and evaluate its effect on fish growth and disease resistance. Streptococcus iniae is the main pathogen
of bacterial diseases of the Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer). This study aimed to examine the antibacterial ability of G. chinensis in vitro and the effect on the growth and resistance to S. iniae infection in the
Asian seabass. The results revealed that all preparations of G. chinensis , i.e., crude drug, modern herbal medicine, extracts from the crude drug and modern herbal medicine, have strong antibacterial activity against S. iniae in vitro. Furthermore, the Asian seabass fed with 1% extracts of G. chinensis for 14 days can increase the disease resistance to S. iniae infection with relative percentage survival more than 50%, as well as improve the fish growth.
