Aims of the project are to study (1) the vertical, horizontal movements and the relation to environmental features of sunfish; (2) feeding ecology of sunfish with Dr. Heidi Dewar in Southwest Fisheries Science Center. The goals of research had two parts that one was to study the stomach content analysis of sunfish to explore its feeding habits and another was to study the movement patterns of sunfish and connecting the behavior to environmental factors (sea surface temperature, sea surface salinity, sea surface height, mixed layer depth, and chlorophyll a) by using software ocean data view and R. In addition, the sunfish research project was published on the 69 thTuna Conference, the presentation title was “Seasonal and size variations in feeding habits of sharp-tail mola, Masturus lanceolatus in eastern Taiwan”.
