     水產生物的種類繁多，其棲息環境及生存條件差異大。為了改善既有的空間以 符合多樣種原生物的棲息環境，而達到種原生物的保存。因此修繕目前既有的水池 以符合生物的需求，並維護各項儀器設備以利各項研究工作，以達到種原庫的正常 運作及發揮種原庫的功能。對已經發展成熟且有高經濟性的生物進行種原培育及保 存，以因應未來特定發展的需求；對於創新開發的技術進行技術移轉，提升產業競 爭力。同時檢討種原庫的物種是否具未來的發展性，並進行調整。另外，在短生命 週期且有經濟性的生物，利用保護棲地的方式借用自然的力量維護生物多樣性，以 自然的力量使族群維持一定的資源量，達到永續利用的目的。
