Seaweeds grow in the natural sea water and are main producers and scavengers of the ocean.They have a number of functions which can be used for aquatic animal habitats, animal feed additives, fish and shellfish baits, environmental improvement, decontamination of water, industrial raw materials, biomass energy, reduction of carbon dioxide releasing, human food, medical or cosmetic products and many other uses with industrial competitiveness.There are about 600 species of seaweeds in the water around Taiwan, but not many seaweeds are applied for the industry . IIn addition to a variety of essential amino acids, proteins, sugars, vitamins and minerals, seaweed also contains a lot of dietary fiber, which can increase gastrointestinal motility and achieve weight loss. It also has many beneficial biologically active substances, including polysaccharides, Highly unsaturated fatty acids, polyphenols and pigments. Most of them have antioxidant, anticoagulant, antiinflammatory, antiviral or anticancer activities. This study intends to find out tthe analysis of natural components, the development of crude extract extraction technology, and the evaluation of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capabilities of Caulerpa chemnitzia. It is hoped to find out the available components and application methods of the algae, so as to improve the utilization and added value of the algae, and then increase the output value of the seaweed industry.
