This plan is executed for creating long term fisheries environmental hydrographicdatabase and numerical models of fisheries prediction combined with variations offishing resources. Database ,included sea temperature, salinity, density, nutrientcontents, phyto-plankton, zoo-plankton and meteorologics, are collected by means ofCTD casting and water columns sampling in the selected 62 stations of coastal watersaround Taiwan. Four cruises are conducted seasonally in the first annual and morecruises are considered in the future. Some of primary objectives of this project are to analyze the relationship betweencopepod distribution and hydrological factors, to identify indicator species of watermasses, to monitor the fauna of marine planktonic copepods off northeastern Taiwan, and to discover the link between copepod fluctuation and the trawl fishery.
