Market acceptability is potential in some high-value marine finfishes, such as grouperand cobia. But cultured fishes perform attributes of inbreeding after several generations, including precocity, retarded growth and low disease resistance. In addition, the meansurvival rate of grouper is normally not exceeded over 1%. In this project, broodstockmanagement, selective breeding and larval rearing is conducted to develop thetechniques of fry production. Furthermore, the technique of live-fish transportation isexploited in order to elevate the exporting competition of fry and market-sized fish.
