石斑魚為臺灣南部沿海魚塭養殖的經濟魚類，適應性強、餌料效率佳等適宜集約養殖的特點，是我國發展海水養殖漁業的主要魚種之一。但近年來因養殖區域集中、單位面積放養量高，罹病的機會因而增加。疾病造成養殖石斑大規模死亡，目前主要的致病原有弧菌、神經性壞死病毒及虹彩病毒等。建立一基準之疫苗評估與測試之方式與技術等，一整套疫苗評估系統，將成為疫苗開發成功與否之主要關鍵。

The grouper is one of the most valuable aquatic species of fish in Taiwan. Many factors,including grading, transferring, and transporting of fish were lead to the infection byvirus, nervous necrosis virus (NNV) and iridovirus, have been attributed to a measurablemass mortality of the grouper. This study aims to develop the techniques to improve theeffect of vaccine to induce protection of grouper against virus infection.
