Hard clam (Meretrix lusoria) were reared for 60 days when both photosynthetic bacteria and Spirulina sp. (treatment PS), photosynthetic bacteria alone (treatment P ), Spirulina sp. alone (treatment S ), and neither photosynthetic bacteria nor Spirulina sp. (treatment C ) were routinely applied to investigate growth, survival, glycogen content, and condition index of the resulting clam. Average imcreasing individual weights were 0.181, 0.155, 0.153, and 0.139 g for PS-, P-, C-, and S-clam, respectively. There were significant differences in growth, condition factor, and glycogen content among the treatments but not in survival rate. condition factor were 2.53, 2.53, 2.34,and 2.2% for PS-,C-,P-, and S-clam, respectively. Glycogen contents were 405.3, 3371, 335.1, and 256.4 mg/100g for S-, PS-, C-, and P-clam, respectively. Feeding results to discover that treatment PS is the best than other treatments, demonstrated that mix the spiral algae and the purple photosynthesis bacterium feed to has the multiple effect.
