In this study two marine bacterial strains producing astaxanthin were acquired by screening, and the astaxanthin was extracted and analyzed. We studied their culture conditions, including growth curve, temperature, pH, rotary speed and carbon sources. Mutagenesis with NTG mutagen was employed to increase the astaxanthin biosynthesis amount as well.
