Hemibarbus labeo is an endemic freashwater fish that is distributed in the river of northern Taiwan.
We selectrd RAPD primers that G/C contant is 80 % from UBC (University of British Columbia) for their utility in identifying genetic polymorphism in Hemibarbus labeo. Of the 50 primers, 30 were good and medium quality RAPD profiles marker for Hemibarbus labeo. Our study present RAPD markers are useful genetic markers in Hemibarbus labeo.
The small size, relatively rapid rate of evolutionary change and maternal haploid inheritance of Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) make it suitable for examining population and structure among closly related taxa. Mitochondrial DNA of the cytochrome b gene (Cyto b 1141bp)、12s-rRNA gene (959 bp)、CO I gene (1551 bp) and D-loop gene (922 bp) for Hemibarbus labeo.
