本試驗嘗試培育遺傳性雄尼羅吳郭魚,將上一年度YY雄魚與變性XY雌魚繁殖之魚苗經過雌性化與培育,選定10尾性腺成熟之雌尼羅吳郭魚(染色體可能為XY或YY),與一般雄魚(XY)配對、繁殖,結果有8組配對繁殖成功。以人工方式辨別子代之雌雄比例,再以卡方分析,結果顯示此8組魚苗之親代非YY雌魚。另外,探討光週期對尼羅吳郭魚成長與飼料轉換率之影響,將吳郭魚飼育在24L:0D, 18L:6D, 12L:12D 和 6L:18D四種不同光周期的環境下90天,每日投餵4-5%體重的飼料,結果顯示以光週期18L:6D組的比成長率和飼料轉換率最佳。

The objective of this study is to produce genetically male Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Ten suspected sex-reversed YY female Nile tilapia was paired with normal XY male Nile tilapia, respectively, to breed. Progeny test was carried on to 8 groups with fry. Results showed that no sex-reversal YY female was discovered among the 8 groups. In addition, the effect of photoperiod on growth rate and feed utilization efficiency of Nile tilapia (O. niloticus) was investigated. The fish were exposed to four photoperiod (light: dark, L:D) cycle (24L:0D, 18L:6D, 12L:12D and 6L:18D). The fish were feed a tilapia diet at a daily rate of 5-4% BW, two times a day for 90 days. The best specific growth rat and feed efficiency were achieves at 18L:6D.
