The objectives of this project are to investigate the status of demersal fish resources in the northern waters off Taiwan, and provide a reasonable fishery management for sustainable utilization of fishery resources. The previous studies indicated that the present fish community in the northern waters off Taiwan was disturbed severely in 2008 to 2009 using abundance biomass comparison curve method. Mesh selectivity analysis indicated that the mesh size of cod end expanding to 75 mm may afford more than one chance to spawn for seven species such as lizard fish and so on. In order to understand the distribution, seasonal variation, catch per unit effort, and length frequency analysis of important economic species,we will continue to survey the past 12 stations and added the areas ofthree northern islets in Keelung. Both data of cartilaginous fishes and demersal shrimps were collected from research vessel and fish market with scientific method and the variations of demersal fish resources were expected to monitor for purpose of reasonable development and management.
