Penghu Islands are located at the intersection of various warm and cold ocean currents. Numerous of marine creatures live here because of the abundant nutrients. The long coastline, mixture of sandy and rocky shores and wide intertidal zone enrich the biodiversity of this area. However, excessive market demand reduces resources and causes environmental changes and ecological damages. A decrease in destruction of marine resources is expected to be achieved through developing breeding and aquaculture techniques of characteristic aquaculture species in Penghu. In this study, we will mass-produce 200,000 high-quality Babylona areolate seedlings and develop the aquaculture technology with less water consumption. In addition, we will also develop Lysmata debelius breeding stock.
