The maintenance of bones is called the “bone remodeling cycle”, which consists of two parts: osteogenesis and bone loss. Usually, the osteoblasts make new bone at the same rate as the osteoclast destroys old bone, allowing our total bone mass to be maintained. If the osteoclasts are too active, may cause osteoporosis that making us vulnerable. In ovarian removal animal experiments, after 6 weeks of continuous administration of E. serra hydrolyzate, it was observed that the femoral bone mineral density, trabecular bone thickness, and trabecular bone area ratio of rats were slightly or significantly greater than those of the control solution group. This means that E. serra hydrolyzate can relieve estrogenic osteoporosis and alleviate the occurrence of osteoporosis. This research aims to analyze the key components and mechanisms of E. serra hydrolysate, which alleviates bone loss, complete the commercialization of bone-preserving materials, and realize the technical results.
