Farming giant mottled eel (Anguilla marmorata) has been getting lots of
attention in Taiwan, due to the less price of juvenile fish and the
potential for aquaculture. Nevertheless, limited information and no
specific feed is available in culturing the eel. Most farmers raise giant
mottled eel according to the experimence on farming Japanese eel
(Anguilla japonica) irrespective of the differences between both eels.
This project will be counducted to investigate suitable feed formulation
and feeding strategy for farming giant mottled eel from elver to
fattening stage.
