本試驗將數量約6萬尾的蝦苗 (PL 5, 平均體重0.0006 ± 0.0001 g ),於6個0.978 ton 為一組的循環水飼育池內飼育,平均密度約為8,580 ind./m2,飼育至第43天收獲時,平均體重為0.386 ± 0.258 g,每週成長0.064 g,平均單位生產量為1.98 kg/m2,活存率為59.8 %,單位面積之活存尾數約為5,130 ind./m2,餌料係數 (FCR) 為1.3。水質方面,白蝦飼育時,水溫、鹽度、pH及溶氧量之範圍分別為20.4 ~ 28.6 ℃、27.1 ~ 39.4 ppt、7.16 ~ 7.35及2.37 ~ 6.20 mg/l。未離子化氨氮 (NH3-N)、亞硝酸氮 (NO2-N) 及硝酸氮 (NO3-N) 之範圍分別為0.006 ~ 0.014 mg/l、0.07 ~ 0.92 mg/l及5.80 ~ 17.96 mg/l。池蝦飼育期間飼育水中弧菌數量之範圍為1.11 × 104 ~ 6.26 × 104 CFU/ml,池蝦肝胰腺內弧菌數之範圍則為5.13 × 103 ~ 1.10 × 106 CFU/g。

Intensive cultivation of white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) was conducted in 6 individual 0.978-ton tanks with an average weight of 0.0006 ± 0.0001 g (PL5) and density of 8,580 individuals (ind.)/m2. The growth rate was 0.064 g/week, the mean weight was 0.386 ± 0.258 g, the harvested biomass was 1.98 kg/m2, the survival rate was 59.8%, the estimated shrimp number was 5,130 ind./m2, and the feed conversion ratio (FCR) was 1.3 for pond shrimp harvested after 43 days. The water quality parameters were maintained at a water temperature of 20.4 to 28.6 °C, a salinity of 27.1 to 39.4 ppt, a pH of 7.16 ~ 7.35, and a dissolved oxygen level of 2.37 ~ 6.20 mg/l during the growth trial. Three kinds of nitrogen wastes, un-ionized ammonia-nitrogen (NH3-N), nitrite-nitrogen (NO2-N), and nitrate-nitrogen (NO3-N), were evaluated, and ranged 0.006 ~ 0.014, 0.07 ~ 0.92, and 5.80 ~ 17.96 mg/l, respectively. Viable counts of Vibrio in the pound water were 1.11 × 104 to 6.26 × 104 CFU/ml, and 5.13 × 103 to 1.10 × 106 CFU/g as revealed in the hepatopancreas.
