研習氣候基金會菲律賓海洋人工藻場建置及碳匯量測技術

氣候基金會( Climate Foundation)致力於海洋永續養殖的推動,具有多次藻場 建置經驗,本次將拜訪氣候基金會於菲律賓宿霧建置的試驗場。在自然情況下,季 風、洋流及地形造成之湧升流區域將底層營養帶到海水表面,即為最佳的藻類生長 區域,然而表層海水升溫可能影響深層海水垂直移動,宿霧的試驗場為一個嶄新的 概念,為使人工藻場同時具備營養以及表層陽光,建立了可上下移動的藻類養殖平 台,於白天時上浮行光合作用,夜間下沉吸收海裡沉降的營養,並具備太陽能浮台 自給動力。本計畫擬實際參與採樣調查作業,拜訪當地相關工程師及研究人員等進 行研習,觀摩設施架構,了解藻類養殖及應用情形。所獲經驗以作為本所架設人工 藻床以及建置量測技術的參考。

Climate Foundation is dedicated to promoting sustainable ocean farming and has extensive experience in building algae farms. We will go to the Marine Permaculture platforms in Cebu, Philippines. Under natural conditions, the upwelling zones caused by monsoons, ocean currents, and terrain bring nutrients from the bottom to the surface of the ocean, which is the best area for algae growth. However, the warming of surface seawater may affect the vertical movement of deep seawater. The experimental site in Cebu is a new concept. To ensure that the artificial algae farm has both nutrients and surface sunlight, a movable algae farming platform has been established. Upward photosynthesis of the platform during daytime, and at night it sinks to absorb the nutrients deposited in the sea, and it is powered by solar energy. This project aims to participate in actual sampling and survey operations, visit local engineers and researchers for learning, observe facility structures, and understand the situation of algae farming and applications. This experience would reference for us to establish artificial surface seaweed farms and be a measurement technologies.
