荊眼刺尻魚繁養殖技術開發

就全球數十億水族貿易產業而言,每年有超過2,000萬尾,1,800多種海水觀賞魚販 售給世界各地的玩家。這行業的持續擴張引起了眾人的關注,據估計90%以上的海水 觀賞魚來自野生採捕。蓋刺魚科(Pomacanthidae)俗稱海水神仙魚,佔海水觀賞魚 交易值的8%,被列為前十大交易魚種。蓋刺魚科分佈於全球的熱帶及亞熱帶水域 ,計有8屬91種。其中刺尻魚屬有34種,占蓋刺魚科總數的三分之一以上。刺尻魚屬 因色彩鮮豔,成魚體型相對較小,能快速適應養殖的環境而深受水族玩家的青睞。 然而,刺尻魚屬的育苗養殖已被證明是非常困難的,目前仍是商業生產的主要障礙 。本研究的長遠目標是發展刺尻魚屬魚類的養殖技術,從瞭解其生態及養殖需求 ,繼而進行稀有及瀕危物種的保育,並可降低野生族群的被採捕壓力。本計畫以荊 眼刺尻魚種魚養殖為重點,包括篩選健康的種魚、培育及配對,以提供後續繁殖試 驗進行。並進行荊眼刺尻魚的育苗等相關試驗,希望建立其人工繁養殖及量產技術。

As part of the multibillion aquarium trade industry, annually more than 20 million marine ornamental fish of over 1800 species are sold to hobbyists around the world. The continuous expansion of this industry has caused concerns, because it has been estimated that more than 90% of marine ornamental fish are sourced from wild collected specimens. The family of marine angelfish, Pomacanthidae, is listed among the top 10 most-traded fish families with a contribution of 8% of the total value of marine ornamental fish. Marine angelfish are distributed in tropics and subtropics waters around the world, and the family consists of 91 species and includes eight genera. Among these, the genus Centropyge, with 34 species, accounts for more than one-third of all species in Pomacanthidae. They are highly sought-after by aquarium hobbyists because of their vibrant colours, relatively small adult sizes and quick adaptation to captive environment. However, the larviculture of Centropyge has been proven to be very difficult, and it remains a major hurdle for commercial production of these fish. The long-term objective of this study is to develop breeding techniques for genus Centropyge, to understand their ecological and aquaculture needs, and then to conserve rare and endangered species, and to reduce the pressure on the fishing of wild communities. The program focuses on the seedling production techniques of Centropyge acanthops, including screening healthy fish species, breeding and pairing, to provide follow-up breeding tests. It is hoped that the artificial breeding and mass production technology will be established by carrying out seedling breeding and other related tests of Centropyge acanthops.
