種原是吳郭魚產業的基礎。本計畫擬建立吳郭魚品種鑑定之生物技術平台，保種種原形質形態資料建檔、品系開發及其DNA指紋資料庫之建立。除了建立優良種原保存模式、建立吳郭魚之種原資料庫，提供選種育種之遺傳資源、做為學術研究，並提供選種育種之種魚基因型作為業界選拔參考，協助吳郭魚業者管理種魚的遺傳變異

研究報告摘要(英) Broodstock managment is important for tilapia industry. The proposes of this plan are to establish the biotechniqe on identification of tilapia specieces, data of morphometric and meristic characters and DNA fingerprint database, and develope new strains. Except for building up model broodstock conservation and genetic resource database in tilapia, these imformation can be applied to selecting breeding in fish famers. We hope that male propotion and survival rate in comercial tilapia fry can be improved.
