Blue sprate Spratelloides gracilis is distributed around Taiwan and Penghu. Theproduction in Penghu can reach more than 1000 tons and the productive value is morethan 100 million dollars. The present status will be surveyed and possible managementadvises will be given this year. Major tasks this year include fishery, biological andmarketing background information collections, as well as the data analysis. Thepredictive effects of this projects are to acquire the fishery data, parameters of resourcesmanagement, marketing data, sprate fishery bycatch estimation with seasonal variation,and the recreational fishery promotion.
