Uroteuthis (Photololigo) edulis is dominantly target species of the torch-light fishery in Taiwan. It is also one important species of the commercial cephalopod in the southern East China Sea. In the past, those studies of reproduction and growth were investigated. It is important that exam the variable of seasonal age and growth for the squid spawning throughout the year. The result shows that it was the exponential function in the growth process of the each female and male hatched group in four seasons. The maximum age observed was about 270 days in four hatched groups. The size of winter hatched group and spring hatched group were larger (> 300 mm); the size of summer hatched group was smallest (< 210 mm). The ML of winter hatched group grew faster than the spring, summer and autumn hatched groups. We considered the winter hatched group which lived 180 days experienced in spring and summer and the warmer water temperature in the habit caused the winter hatched groups living in 180 days grew faster than other three hatched groups. The number of eggs was estimated used weight and length index and average eggs of each was between 136 to 440 (mean = 264.4±118.4, n = 8). The result of gees estimate used weight or length was on difference. Judging from the find of egg mop, the northwestern waters off Peng-Jia islet is one of the spawning grounds for U. (P.) edulis.
