The final aim of this project is to develop at least two detecting kits to aquaculture pathogens. Aeromonas hydrophila and Vibrio spp. which cause major diseases to freshwater and sea water aquaculture, respectively, are the most possible targets. The main works are to analyze the differences of morphology, pigment, motility, oxygen demand, temperature tolerance, salinity tolerance, chemical tolerance, enzyme activities, anti-agglutination patterns, API & MICROBACT biochemical assays, 16S rDNA, 16S-23S rDNA alignment among target bacterium and twenty strains of common aquaculture pathgogens(including Aeromonas - 14 - TS2011021016023029320100/02/10 16:02:30hydrophila、Aeromonas salmonicida、Aeromonas sobria、Edwardsiella tarda、Enterococcue faecalis、Enterococcue faecium、Flavobacterium columnaris、Lactococcus garvieae、Listonella anguillarum、Nocardia asteroides、Photobacterium damselae subsp. damselae、Photobacterium damselae subsp.piscicida、Pseudomonas aeruginosa、Pseudomonas anguilliseptica、 Staphylococcus epidermidis、Streptococcus iniae、Vibrio alginolyticus、Vibrio harveyi、Vibrio parahaemolyticus及Vibrio vulnificus) in Taiwan. The expect results of this year is to develop a prototype of Lactococcus garvieae detecting kit which can be used for research purpose.
