本年度計畫已完成100種觀賞魚標本與影像資料蒐集；增加本所出版品與館藏文獻數位化100篇，以保存相關資訊，並製作成PDF光碟電子書8片；此外，除維護本所全球資訊網站外亦協助農委會完成建置經濟性螺貝類及蓋刺魚2個主題館；現場錄製農民學院觀賞魚養殖入門班之水產養殖之現況與展望、觀賞魚分類總論與屬性歸類、生生不息-海水觀賞水族生物繁養殖技術、觀賞市場國際貿易概論、餌料生物之培養與應用介紹、水質管理及簡易型水質分析、水產飼料及營養配方、農業專案貸款等8課程：測試QR code與影音檔之連結播放，以便發展行動裝置影音導覽平台。
另外，介紹水產試驗所已建立之網站，以「Development of Fisheries Information Systems for the Fisheries Research Institute of Taiwan」為題，發表於第八屆亞洲農業資訊科技國際研討會(AFITA 2012)暨世界農業資訊科技國際研討會(WCCA 2012)；投稿「100年度熱門淡水觀賞魚種調查」1篇於水試專訊期刊。

This project has collected 100 freshwater ornamental fish specimen, digitized 100 papers and references, and generated eight PDF electronic books. In addition to maintain our World Wide Web site¸ we also assisted COA to built two theme websites. Eight introductions to ornamental fish aquaculture courses were recorded on site. They included Status and prospects of aquaculture fish farming, classified ornamental fish with their properties, ornamental fish propagation and culture techniques, international ornamental fish trade, Culture and application of live food, water quality management and simplified analysis, aquatic feed and nutrition, and loan for agriculture project.
In addition, a paper, titled 'Development of Fisheries Information Systems for the Fisheries Research Institute of Taiwan', was presented in the 8th 2012 Asian Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture & World Conference on Computers in Agriculture (AFITA/WCCA 2012) conference.
